I have been here for some time but not for long. I love to read books and see how characters and places spring forth life from the pages. I like words, the way they are spelled, the way they sound and keep a list of favorite ones. I am both young and old, all ages in between and at all ages still learning. I want to be everywhere and all places at once, not to be omnipresent but to explore the world, it's places, it's ages.
I enjoy tea, nature and friendships.
It's very nice meeting you...

Alas, if only this was me heading towards my own abode!

The young royal will wed soon and there is a flurry of delightful commemorative items to purchase. This is one I wouldn’t mind owning myself.

My Silence Knot

My silence knot is tied up in my hair,
As if to keep love out of my eyes.
I cannot speak to one for whom I care.
A hatpin serves as part of my disguise.

In the play, my role is baticeer,
A word which here means “person who trains bats.”
The audience may feel a prick of fear,
As if sharp pins were hidden in their hats.

My co-star lives on what we call a brae.
His solitude might not be just an act.
A piece of mail fails to arrive one day.
This poignant melodrama’s based on fact.

The curtain fall just as the knot unties,
The silence broken by the one who dies.

To search the book, and in the warming air
Parted its dripping leaves with eager care.
Strange matters did it treat of, and drew on
My soul page after page, till well-nigh won
Into forgetfulness; when, stupefied,
I read these words, and read again, and tried
My eyes against the heavens, and read again.

I spy a darling little yellow dress (along with black hat and cognac boots) that would fit well in a Canarie Closet. Even better on a Canarie, methinks.
